Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland launched the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan-2025 at Niuland Town Hall on April 2, 2025, with an aim to reach out to the grassroots and spread awareness of the developmental initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led government.
Addressing the gathering, Basu Damani, vice president of BJP Nagaland and co-convener of the Abhiyan, emphasized that the campaign is a nationwide initiative to connect with citizens in the remotest corners and inform them about the transformational changes brought under the BJP government.
He highlighted various central schemes and projects aimed at public welfare, noting that the BJP government has prioritized digitalization to ensure direct benefit to citizens, eliminating the need for middlemen.
He called on BJP Kaaryakartas to actively disseminate information about government schemes so that the benefits reach every household, especially in rural areas.
Damani also criticized opposition parties for allegedly spreading false narratives about the BJP both in the state and across the country.
Speaking at the event, Khevishe Sema, co-chief spokesperson and member of the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan, urged the Kaaryakartas to monitor the effective implementation of welfare schemes on the ground.
He reiterated that the growth and strength of the party lie in the hands of the grassroots workers. Aliba Sangtam, state secretary BJP Nagaland and member Gaon Chalo Abhiyan, said that it was the duty of party workers to help the public understand the welfare schemes implemented on the ground.
A testimony was shared by Lovito Aye, a daily wager from Hokhezhe village under Niuland district, who expressed gratitude for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The program was chaired by Zheito Tuccu, president of BJP Niuland Unit, with an invocation led by Pastor Kiyevi Zhimo of SBC Niuland.
Short speeches were delivered by GBs, councilors, and party leaders. The event concluded with a benediction by Khevili K. Hollo, president BJP Mahila Morcha Niuland Unit.
