BJP launches membership drive in Peren

State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched its primary membership enrollment drive at Jalukie in Peren district on January 24 where around 80 delegates from Tenning and Peren Assembly constituencies have attend the meeting.
The State team was led by Yanghose Sangtam, Membership Convener, and Er. Sengathung Jami, Co-convener, accompanied by K Medom, National Executive Member, K Kahoto Chishi, President State BJYM, and K.James Vizo, General Secretary cum Spokesman.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. S Jami said anyone willing to join the party could enroll by On-line or through booklet. He said BJP has targeted to enroll 50,000 members by March 31 in Nagaland and 3500 from Peren (Tenning 2000 and Peren 1500).
He said BJP door is open to all without condition adding any political party could join the party during the enrollment drive. Those willing to join on-line can dial   1800 266 2020 and register freely. He said BJP members are not leaders but workers of the party. He said any BJP man should have the zeal to work for the growth of the party.
National member, K Kedom Angami, in his address, said BJP bear true faith to the Constitution of India and follows the principles of socialism, secularism and democracy. He said BJP is the only political party that gives top priority for development and has the utmost concern for the grass-root people.
The programme was chaired by Ndabe Diwang, District Membership Convener, while the vote of thanks was pronounced by Namphak, Co-convener for Peren district. Active co-ordination and initiative was taken jointly by Dr. Tumda Newme and Zandi Domta, former DCC-I president.
Meanwhile, the Party informed that after March 31, organizational election would commence at the grass-root level/ local committee followed by mandal and district and State committees. It said only genuine people willing to work for the party should be encouraged to join the party and only dedicated members should   locally be selected for the various posts as per their capability.
It also notified that the 2nd phase primary enrollment drive would be carried out soon in Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire and Zunheboto. In this regard, all district presidents are requested to co-ordinate with the State convener.
