BJP Mon unit, in response to the “explanation call” notice by Konyak Union, has apologized the January 24 agitation by BJP Mon unit members in violation of the August 26, 2022 ENPO resolution. In a letter, BJP Mon unit president Nyawang Wangsa tendered unconditional apology if their actions had hurt the sentiments of KU and ENPO. The unit also said that they fully support the ENPO and KU stand for Frontier Nagaland demand. Meanwhile, a separate undertaking was also signed by BJP unit vice president Nyangpong Konyak and secretary Mangoak Konyak, counter signed by KU vice president Y. Chingwang Wangsa and general secretary Manpang K. Wangyen.The BJP unit expressed regret for the protest rally held at BJP office, Mon on January 24, defying the public resolution and order passed by the Konyak Union. The BJP sincerely apologized for the unfortunate incident and said that the party will issue public apology to the Konyaks for defying the order of KU. It further said that the party would abide by the resolution of KU and ENPO within its jurisdiction and ensure that no such party activities would take place in the district till further notice by KU. They also agreed that the KU shall, hereafter, reserve the right to initiate any disciplinary action against the party if and when the party defies the KU resolution.
