BJP to stage nationwide protests against Kharge over remarks on PM

NEW DELHI, OCT 25 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced nationwide protests on Monday against what it described as “insulting, indecent and offensive” remarks by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late father.
According to a party statement, demonstrations will be held at all BJP state headquarters across the country. The BJP said the remarks, made by Kharge in Patna, were highly objectionable and an attack on the dignity of the Prime Minister’s family.
BJP leaders alleged that the comments crossed the limits of political discourse and constituted a personal attack rather than criticism of governance or policy. They said targeting family members of political leaders, particularly those who are deceased, reflected a new low in public debate.
The party has directed its state units to organise peaceful but firm protests at their respective offices.
