Nagaland State BJP unit observed “Good Governance Day” on December 30 at the party’s office in Dimapur. Good governance day was initiated by Narendra Modi-government to commemorate former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary on December 25.
State unit president Visasolie Lhoungu spoke on the concept and purpose of Good Governance and declared that the State BJP would observe Good Governance Day on December 30, annually.
Speaking on the occasion, convenor of GCC, S.T. Sangtam explained on the constitutional basis, meaning and purpose of Good Governance Day.
Dr. Kuhoi Zhimomi, member GCC also recounted the life history and contribution of Atal Bihari Vajpayee while Dr. Temsuwati, also a member of the committee gave a detailed account of implementation of 66 centrally sponsored schemes.
The programme organized by the state Good Governance Committee (GGC) was chaired by Mulai Khiamniungan, GCC member secretary. Viniho Zhimomi, Pastor Hindi Baptist Church, Toluvi, Dimapur invoked God’s blessing and the vote of thanks was delivered Mulai Khiamniungan.
