WOKHA, JUL 1 (NPN): The Wokha District BJP Youth Wing, led by its president Shanchothung A. Ezung, organised a free seed distribution drive at Longsa village on July 1, benefiting local farmers and promoting agricultural activities.
Seeds including corn, peas, soybean and peanut were distributed, with organisers stating that the varieties were carefully selected to suit the climatic conditions of Longsa. A large number of villagers availed themselves of the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Youth Wing for extending support to the farming community.
Speaking on the occasion, Ezung said that although several government schemes and welfare initiatives are available, many rural residents remain unaware due to lack of access to information. He said the Youth Wing aims to act as a bridge by creating awareness and ensuring benefits reach those in need.
He also expressed gratitude to senior party leaders and workers for their guidance and support, noting that collective efforts can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The organisers conveyed special appreciation to Chumbemo Jerret Patton, Political Attendant to advisor Mhathung Yanthan, for providing the seeds, and acknowledged the support of Hachio Patton, PRO to the Deputy Chief Minister, for his contribution to the successful conduct of the event.
The Youth Wing stated that the initiative was part of its ongoing efforts to support farmers, encourage agricultural development and strengthen grassroots outreach.
