In celebration of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and India’s 79th Independence Day, spirited bike rallies were organised across Nagaland by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and Assam Rifles, spreading messages of unity, pride, and national integration.
In Dimapur, BJYM Nagaland, under the aegis of BJP Nagaland, launched a statewide Tiranga Yatra bike rally on Wednesday. The rally was flagged off by former MLA, H. Khehovi at a brief ceremony. Leading the ride were BJP Nagaland State president Benjamin Yepthomi and BJYM Nagaland State president Khekato Awomi.
Addressing the participants, H. Khehovi said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign symbolises the very soul of the nation. He described the bike rally as “more than just a ride,” calling it a moving message of unity, courage, and pride. He urged that every road they travelled should remind people that the Tricolour belongs to every home, heart, and generation. Encouraging the riders to maintain safety and purpose, he called on them to let the national flag “fly high in every heart.”
Over 300 bikers participated in the event, including two female riders who received special appreciation for their presence in the predominantly male contingent. The riders, carrying the Tricolour, traversed the Dimapur–Chümoukedima route, spreading messages of unity, pride, and national integration.
Dimapur rally was part of a larger statewide initiative, with similar bike rallies organised across various districts of Nagaland.
In Kohima, Assam Rifles organised a Tiranga Bike Rally from Kohima Garrison to Government High School, PWD Colony. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from Assam Rifles personnel, who rode through the streets carrying the National Flag. At the culmination point, 250 flags were distributed to school children, encouraging them to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative and honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Meanwhile, in various locations across Nagaland, Assam Rifles continued its campaign efforts, with 52 participants including personnel, youth, ex-servicemen, and community members joining the rally. The event aimed to strengthen emotional ties with the National Flag and inspire citizens to hoist the Tiranga from August 13 to 15. Local residents gathered along the route to cheer the riders, reflecting widespread public support.
The rallies served as vibrant tributes to the spirit of Independence, reinforcing the message that the Tricolour belongs to every home, heart, and generation.
