‘Black badge’: Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association to intensify stir

Correspondent

Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association (NASSA) along with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Saturday resolved to intensify its agitation by launching a two-day ‘black badge’ protest starting Monday (June 6-7).
The decision comes following a joint meeting of NASSA and JAC held here on Saturday. Even as the two-day ‘pen down strike’ concluded on Saturday, the association said they were yet to receive any positive response from the state government.
The protest has been called against the state government’s decision of appointing Dr. PJ Antony (retired officer) as principal secretary, under the establishment of the NLA secretariat.
Later, in a press note, NASSA general secretary Talirenla and JAC secretary Sezoto Theyo said that the meeting held on June 4 decided to continue with its democratic agitation from June 6-7. They said the pen-down strike would now be intensified by wearing black badges.
Meanwhile, NASSA vice president Rocus Rino informed Nagaland Post that the second day of the ‘pen down strike’ passed off peacefully with all members attending office, but ceasing to carry out any work in view of the agitation.
