A hymnal competition on the hymn “A new name in Glory” was organized by Borlengri Lotha Baptist Church (BLBC) here Saturday, at its church premises. A total of six Lotha wards actively participated in the competition chanting in one accord delivering the best chord.
Earlier, BLBC pastor reverend Y Arhonthung Odyuo shared his message from the book of Psalms 9:2 and Philippians 4:4. He encouraged the gathering to rejoice in the Lord because that is something we as Christians can always take joy in no matter what we are going through. He said that rejoicing in God means that we take delight in Him and not our circumstances, it means we are comforted by His name and His presence and despite what we are going through we need to have faith and believe that we are loved, cared and watched over in His guidance.
In regard to the competition, Odyuo mentioned that the main aim of the hymnal competition was to keep the tradition of the Church hymns. The programme was chaired by youth director Thungchamo Ngullie, pianist of the competition was Rumbeni Ophyuopvui. Later, vote of thanks was delivered by associate pastor P Mhonchumo Tungu.
