Block health mela at Kandinu and Angphang

Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, under the National Health Mission (NHM), organized block health mela at Kandinu village’s AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre on March 26.


The mela was initiated by District Health Society and free medical services and essential medicines were provided after examination.


Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Interpersonal Communication (IPC) sessions were held on topics like child health, maternal health, family planning, and NCDs for pregnant women, eligible couples, and lactating mothers. At the mela, 209 OPD cases registered and received free treatment.


Angphang Village: District Health Society, Mon organised Block Health Mela at Angphang Village, Aboi block on March 26, providing medicines, health check-ups and information on Government health programmes and services.


A press release by Media officer, NHM, Leeyan Chemshy, informed that the team included DPO (RCH & UIP), Dr Wungyong Konyak, Pedeatrician DH, Dr Chimang Paul, Gynecologist DH, Dr Yingngam, Dentist UPHC, Dr Wanmei, MO DH, Dr Nyamnyei, MO DH, Dr Chingyen, and MO Aboi CHC, Dr Hangsha, IEC team, District Account Assistant and Block Programme Management Unit (BPMU) along with four nurses, one ophthalmic assistant, one pharmacist, Mobile ICTC, and NCD.


The release informed services such as PMJAY card creation and ABHA ID creation were also made available, while a total of 500 OPD were registered.
