District Health Society Mon conducted first Block Health Mela at the Ayushmaan Bharat-Health & Wellness Center in Nokyan village, which served 154 houses and 1,003 people, including Sakho village.
The event was organised to raise public health awareness and to provide activities ranging from free health screening to free medicines. Community members received free medicines and health services, including general check-ups, dental care, pediatric consultations, ophthalmic services, ANC check-ups, vaccinations, NCD screenings, and a mobile ICTC for HIV counseling and testing.
Focus Group Discussions were also held with targeted groups such as pregnant women, lactating mothers, eligible couples, and youths. Meanwhile, 110 OPD cases were registered, 41 children were screened, 15 underwent eye screenings, 54 NCD screenings, 10 screened for tuberculosis, and 10 for NVBDCP.
