A one-day Block Level IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) awareness and capacity building training was held on March 11 for Phomching Block at the office of the Executive Engineer, PHED, Mon HQ.
The training was organized by PHED, Mon Division, with the objective to raise awareness among the local community and build capacity on Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus & Har Ghar Jal (HGJ).
The introductory session led by District Coordinator, Medoseto Kiso highlighted the importance of IEC activities in raising awareness among rural communities.
Key topics on SBM and JJM were covered, including “Solid and Liquid Waste Management,” “Water Conservation & SBM Academy,” “ODF Plus & Har Ghar Jal Declaration,” and “Importance of Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance.”
The resource persons included JE Tobu Block Er. Sentiyabang, IEC Consultant JJM, Wonjano R Odyuo, District Coordinator, Medoseto Kiso and T Pangken Konyak.
The training featured interactive sessions to help participants apply the concepts and address local challenges. They were encouraged to persist in promoting awareness and supporting government initiatives.
