Two-day workshop for in-service primary teachers from schools under EBRC-L khel block on mathematics learning kit on the theme, “mathematics may not teach us how to add happiness or minus sadness. But, it does teach one important thing. Every problem has a solution. Let’s make mathematics simple” was from May 29 to 30 29. Kethovilie Sachü training and research associate TRA, SCERT Kohima was the resource person.
Day one of the workshop programme was chaired by trainer of trainers (ToT) Vizonielie Peinyü, welcome and keynote concept by Visato Koso, co- ordinator and exhortations by SDEO Kohima, Talingangla and Rokonieno, programme assistant DMA, SSA, Kohima. Exhorting the teacher-trainees both the speakers highlighted the importance and effectiveness of teaching basic mathematics right from the initial stage as the need of the hour specially in government primary schools in Nagaland. SDEO encouraged the trainees not to be afraid of mathematics but to deliver good quality teaching patterns.
On the second day, practical and demonstrations of learning kits was delivered by the trainees to the students of classes 1 to 5 of GMS L. Khel, the model school of the training centre. Altogether 62 teachers attended the two-day workshop which concluded with a brief feedback given by resource person and words of gratitude assistant coordinator, Kajina Sote.
