District administration and district level centre for women-MSK has completed the block wise orientation programme for ASHAs and AWWs under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Peren on October 29. The last session concluded at Ahthibung town with Dr. Vezokholu Khamo as the resource person.
According to DIPR report, Dr. Vezokholu Khamo in her address emphasized on the important roles and responsibilities of the ASHAs and AWWs.
She also spoke on the need of promoting the institutional deliveries and early birth registration which is important equipment for the safety of a woman and a baby in general. She also said, women needed to be encouraged and learn from one another to bring out the best ways to uplift their status.
Programme was chaired by women welfare officer (WWO), Heiriateilei where she briefed on the importance and functioning of BBBP and women centric schemes. Women were given free hand to clear their doubts in regard to schemes WWO had proposed.
Marking October month as the month of a girl child, district administration, DLCW also covered various schools under Ahthibung block where primary importance was given to girls’ education.
