Bogus voters, proxy voting rampant

Voter impersonation continues to be rampant while alleged booth capturing was also reported in some parts of the state during the polling on Tuesday.
In Kohima, several persons were allegedly involved in distributing fake voter slips while one person, in possession fake voter slips at AG colony was caught and handed over to police.
The fake voter slips with the signature and official seal of ADC Kohima and Election Returning Officer was seized from agents of a candidate while distributing the slips from a chamber near the Polling Station at Jail Colony. When agents of the rival candidate entered the room, they found a huge number of fake voter slips in a bucket. 
Another youth was also nabbed in AG Colony by youths of Kohima village who handed over the accused to South PS. 
In this regard, NDPP has lodged a complaint with the Returning Officer.
In another case, first time voters, mostly students, were sent back by polling officials who told them that their votes were cast through ballot. 
The parents of the youths filed a complaint with North PS. CEO Abhijit Sinha admitted that he had received a copy of the complaint from the RO Kohima district.
There have also been many reports where a voter cast votes in two constituencies. This revealed that a person has his name in two places which is possible by having the same photograph but different name. 
It was also reported that booth capturing had also taken place in some constituencies.
