Book on ‘His Majesty’s Headhunters’ released

Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on Saturday released a book “His Majesty’s Headhunters”, written by former legislator, Mmhonlumo Kikon at WWII Museum, Kisama.

A DIPR report informed that Rio congratulated Kikon on his book and said that writing was about sharing one’s knowledge. He said that the book will be a knowledge repository for the generations to come. Rio said that a book about the British colonial Nagas written by a local author will give a different perception unlike the ones written by others and underlined the importance of documenting the Naga’s side of the story.

Rio also shared his own British-Japanese stories passed on to him by his parents and relatives. Author, Mmhonlumo Kikon while giving a background on the book said that the book was about the people and stories from the Naga’s perspective. He also shed a light on the impact on modern Nagaland due to the British colonisation and the Japanese invasion. Advisor to chief minister and chairman IDAN, Abu Metha chaired the programme.
