Staff Reporter

A noteworthy addition to literature on childlessness, a book titled “Understanding Childlessness: A Road to Childless People and a Friendly Society”, authored by Dr. Hovika Sheqi Swu, was released by additional director RD department, Dr. K Inazhe Phuleshe, at Hotel Saramati on Saturday.

In his address, Dr. Swu urged everyone to cultivate habit of reading and to cherish books throughout their lives. He expressed regret over the prevailing trend where individuals, despite being educated and obtaining degrees in various fields, often neglect practice of reading books. He emphasized that this oversight could adversely impact their ongoing education and the knowledge they acquire.
He further stressed that neglecting the habit of reading would gradually erode the wealth of knowledge and education they have accumulated, eventually leaving their minds vacant.

Authored by Dr. Hovika Sheqi Swu and published by Gateway International in South Korea, the book delves into the experiences of childless couples, shedding light on socio cultural obstacles, gender specific factors contributing to childlessness, and the psychosomatic challenges associated with it.
The author portrayed childlessness as a condition even more profound than a terminal illness. Dr. Swu underscores pivotal roles and responsibilities of friends, families, and society as a whole in aiding childless individuals in overcoming their challenges, and in building a more inclusive and supportive environment for those facing childlessness.
