Border peace meeting held at Saringyim

To foster goodwill and neighbourly relations, a peace coordination meeting was held at Saringyim, a border village located in the foothills in Mokokchung district initiated by the Athrong EAC Longchem on April 30.

A press release from Mokokchung NIC district informatics officer and coordinator, BPCC (A-N), Er. Temsu Wathi Ao stated that, the members at the meeting praised EAC for his effort to organise a trans-border cultural exchange programme involving the people living in Assam-Nagaland border area during Tsüngremmong festival on August 2, 2019.           
On the proposal to convene a get together festivity amongst the border people, the Saringyim Village Council has consented to host the same in their village. 
The neighbouring village representatives present at the meeting have also unanimously offered to extend all needed assistance. Representatives from Assam side also applauded the gesture initiated by the local administrator.
Village functionaries from neighbouring Naga villages and representatives from Assam were present at the meeting. A five member BPCC (A-N) delegation led by its newly nominated working president Jiten Buragohain and coordinator deliberated for peace parleys in the border region. The members also resolved to organize a raffle draw on the festivity day.
