Tayitha, a nine-year old boy and student of class 6 from Shilloi Mission School, Weziho, Yisisotha village under Meluri division saved the life of his sister from electrocution on May 29.
A press release from Pochury Baptist Church Council (PBCC) Yisisotha, Rev. Rümatho Nyusou stated that, Tayitha saved the life of his sister while being electrocuted by a power line dangling barely 12 feet above the ground. The incident occurred when the parents of the children had gone off to a nearby field, while the duo, not realizing there was an electric line above their heads, climbed a small tree whose trunk had overgrown the dwarf line. The quick presence of mind of the boy saved his sister and other siblings from succumbing to the high voltage electric shock. Both are in stable condition as on May 31, with Tayitha having suffered minor injury on his thumb and thigh, although the sister will need more time for recovery from the shock and injury.
