Boys’ hostels in 3 Polytechnics inaugurated

Advisor to CM for Transport & Technical Education Department, Temjenmenba, virtually inaugurated three boys’ hostels in Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK), Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) and Government Polytechnic Tsunazho Chetheba Phek (GPTCP) on July 25 from the Directorate of Technical Education, Kohima in the presence of the director Technical Education, officers, principals and faculty of the department.

In his inaugural speech, the advisor thanked the funding agencies and the state government for making the fund available to ensure that the students’ academic progress is not hampered due to lack of proper residential facilities in the polytechnics. He also urged upon the faculty members not to fail in their duty in delivering skill education to the students and in helping them avail the maximum benefit out of the provisions made available for them by the central as well as the state government.

Temjenmenba assured that as the advisor to the government for Technical Education, he is recommitted to ensure that similar facilities are provided even in the future. He also made special mention of the contractors and thanked them for their cooperation with the department in allowing the hostels to be inaugurated, despite pending bills by the government.

The inaugurated hostels have 40 bedded capacity each and shall create a congenial study atmosphere for the students providing them freedom from the worries of accommodation and transit issues, which will further encourage them to focus on their educational career. It may be mentioned that two hostels (GPK & KPA) were funded by CAFES-AICTE, and one hostel (GPTCP) funded by the State government.
