Butchers directed
DIMAPUR: Taking note of reports that pork/beef butchers along the stretch from purana bazaar to 7th mile Chumukedima were selling meat at a higher rate, the EAC, Chumukedima, B. Henok Buchem has directed them to strictly adhere to the prevailing rates. It furnished the prevailing rates as: pork- Rs. 90 per kg, beef- Rs 50 per kg (general) and Rs 60 per kg (special). It further informed that surprise checking would be conducted from time to time and action initiated against the defaulters as per provision of the law.
One rejoins ‘GPRN/NSCN’
DIMAPUR: Finance secretary of “GPRN/NSCN” Lotha region, Khondao Lotha, who had earlier defected to NSCN (I-M) along with A.Z Jami has rejoined the “GPRN/NSCN”, informed the publicity cell of the organisation.
KUTT, NSCN (I-M) compromise
DIMAPUR: Khiamniungan Union Tuensang Town (KUTT) has informed Fact Finding Committee (FFC), Tuensang town that negotiation made by FFC between NSCN (I-M) and KUTT on August 13, with regard to the killing of late T Sangtsoi Khiamniungan on June 20 has been accepted by KUTT. Further, union vice president, P. Phenungchio in a release said that KUTT in a meeting held August 19 has resolved to revoke the its earlier ultimatum served July 2, 2007, pertaining to the incident, with immediate effect.
IMFL seized
DIMAPUR: Excise personnels manning the check gate from August 11 to 17 seized 204 bottles of IMFL and beer. In this connection five persons were arrested and penalized under the section of NLTP Act 1989. Pitongse Sangtam, superintendent of excise and prohibition, Dimapur stated that the duty party consisted of assistant inspector of excise Apong Phom along with head constable Hothrong, Sentimeren, Khupkholun, Lanukumdang, Lithrichem, Subash, Tsuknung, Chubasashi, and Zubeni all constables.
CSUKC fresher’s social
KOHIMA: Chakhesang Students’ Union of Kohima College (CSUKC) will have its 23rd fresher social cum general session on August 23 at Ura Academy with V. Ashu Theyo, advocate, as the chief guest, adding absentees would be strictly dealt with as per the constitution of the union.
