BSDM&RC project kick-starts in Mkg

Beth Shalom Diagnostics, Multispecialty and Research Centre (BSDM&RC) project has kick-started on January 27, after a hiatus of five years since its foundation stone was led by then governor of Nagaland, B. P. Acharya.

A press release by BJP Mokokchung media and IT cell stated that, the initiative was taken by REM Group when minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along was the chairman of REM Group.

Speaking at the dedicatory programme for the health centre, Temjen Imna Along recollected how the dream project of a modern healthcare centre at Moayimti was given wings through the then governor of Nagaland B.P Archarya who laid the foundation stone. He confessed that the five years hiatus, from 2016-2021, was a moment for the REM Group to reassess and redirect its objective towards providing a modern healthcare centre for the people of Tzurangkong and Nagaland. He assured that the centre would be functional within years. While calling the people to focus on development, Temjen Imna said that the state’s economy was going down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, he asked the people to work hard and called for a “collective effort and inclusive growth”.

Dedicatory prayer was pronounced by S. Moa Aier of ABAM (apex Ao Church organisation) while chairman of Moayimti Village Council delivered the welcome address.

Village leaders from Tsurangkong and Japfukong ranges, officials from the BJP Nagaland mahila morcha, ST morcha BJP Mokokchung and government officials attended the dedicatory programme.  It must be noted that the healthcare centre is a multi-crore project aimed at providing quality healthcare services to the people of Mokokchung and its neighbouring districts.
