BSF DG briefs M’laya Governor on India-B’desh border security

Shillong, Sep 11 (NPN): Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Pankaj Kumar Singh called on Meghalaya Governor C.H. Vijayashankar at Lok Bhavan, Shillong, on Friday.
Singh was accompanied by Inspector General of BSF, Meghalaya Frontier, Om Prakash Upadhyay.
During the meeting, Singh briefed the Governor on the various measures and actions being taken by the BSF for the protection and security of the India-Bangladesh border shared by Meghalaya and Assam.
The discussions also covered the role of the BSF in maintaining effective border security and addressing challenges along the international border.
Governor Vijayashankar appreciated the efforts of the BSF in safeguarding the international border and assured the BSF Chief of the full support and cooperation of the State government in strengthening border protection and security.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of close coordination between the BSF and the State government for ensuring effective border management and the security of the region.
