BSI releases Lamkang Naga Holy Bible

Bible Society of India (BSI) released the Lamkang Naga Holy Bible on December 17 at Lamrinkhuw Baptist Church, Pallel, Manipur. 

A press release from BSI auxiliary secretary, Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah stated that, Rev. D. Bongshot, translator of Lamkang Naga Holy Bible gave a brief report. She said that she began the translation work with prayer, continued it with prayer and completed the translation work with thanksgiving prayer. She acknowledged that God gave her patience, understanding and strength to carry out the translation work. She thanked BSI, especially the supervisors for the advice and encouragement. Translation committee checked the script and did necessary corrections. 

On behalf of BSI, Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah, auxiliary secretary, Dimapur released the Lamkang Naga Holy Bible in the presence of the LNBA leaders, pastors and church leaders. He shared on the power of the word of God that it can transform the life of individuals and society. He encouraged believers to read and meditate upon the word of God.

On behalf of the churches Rev. R. Khular, former executive secretary, LNBA expressed appreciation to BSI and its associate translation director, Shillong Rev. Dr. Along Jamir and supervisor Rev. Vanlal helping them to have the word of God in their own language. 

This translation work is a big achievement for the people of Lamkang. There are only 24 churches with a little more than 7000 population, yet their oneness in Christ enabled them to have their Bible, whereby BSI wished them to grow deeper in the word of God and grow from strength to strength. 

Earlier, Dilbung chaired the release function. Rev. JV. Darjoy, elect president, Lamkang Naga Baptist Association (LNBA) pronounced invocation and Rev. J. Joseph, executive secretary, LNBA welcomed and introduced special invitees and delegates. Joyson Thangal, marketing assistant officer, BSI brought greetings on behalf of the BSI.
