BSNL ‘exemption’ appeal to DMC

Responding to a call of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) for shifting of telephone posts and DP boxes obstructing roads and traffic movement, the BSNL has requested DMC to exempt BSNL from shifting works for the time being.
PRO, BSNL Dimapur, in a press release said the Holy Cross junction was a centralized location for BSNL with six pillars catering to four thousand working connections and covering more than twenty thickly populated areas with high telephone density, especially those of VIP numbers.
Stating that there was space around the existing locations for shifting of pillars and DP boxes, the BSNL also requested DMC to allot vacant space at the edge of road widening works, to enable the telecom company to carry out shifting works.
