As per the directive of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Returning Officer (DEO) Kohima has notified all the electors in 10 Northern Angami -1 (ST) Assembly Constituency, who have been issued EPIC have to produce it for their identification at the polling stations before casting their Votes.
The bye-election to the 10-Northern Angami-I Assembly constituency in Nagaland would be held on July 29, 2017.
According to an official bulletin, DC & DEO Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, also stated that those electors, who were not able to produce EPIC, would produce one of the following alternative photo identity documents: Passport; driving licence; service identity card with photograph issued by employees by central/ state government, PSUs/public limited companies; passbook with photograph issued by bank/post office; PAN card; smart card issued by RGI under NPR; MNREGA job card; health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of ministry of labour; pension document with photograph; authenticated photo voter slip issued by the election machinery; official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MKCs and Aadhaar card.
