A newly recognized Chingkao Chingpong village in Mon district was inaugurated on January 6 by PS to Minister of RD & REPA, Pangloi Konyak, a DIPR report said Thursday.
In his inaugural speech, the chief guest has termed the occasion ‘historic’ for Chingkai Chingpong village as their long cherished dream came to a reality. Stating that establishing a new village is a signed of new thoughts and progress, he urged the people of the village to maintain peace and tranquility.
In a short speech, DPO, RD Mon, Manching Konyak, said development would largely depend on wisdom and knowledge. He has, therefore, urged the people of the village to make proper use of government fund and schemes for development of the village.
Konyak Union president S Manlip Konyak, Akang of Chingkao Chingnyu village and Head GB of Chingkao Chingha village also spoke on the occasion.
The inaugural programme was chaired by H Mongnyei, while the welcome address was delivered by acting chairman C/Chingpong village. Folk dance was presented by C/Chingnyu male group and C/Chingpong women. Special number was also presented by Chingkao Chingha Students’ Union, Chingkao Nyaho Youth, C/Chingpong Youth.
