C-Edge College celebrated its 14th Freshers’ Week with a week-long programme from July 10 to 17, culminating in a grand finale at the G.K. Auditorium on Friday. Founder of CAN Youth and General Secretary of the Nagaland Alliance for Children and Women’s Rights, Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei, attended the event as the guest speaker.
Addressing the gathering, Rongmei encouraged the freshers to embrace their individuality, speak with confidence, and make their voices heard. He urged students to think critically, ask questions, and not allow complacency to replace wisdom.
A highlight of the programme was the presentation of the annual college awards by Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Daisy Shitio. The Best Star Attendance Award was presented to Zakali Zhimo (BA II Semester), Kaophen C. Phom and Chongmei C. Phom (BA IV Semester), Yimtsula K (BA VI Semester), Supriya Patnayak (BBA II Semester), Imnamongla Longkumer (BBA IV Semester), and Onentsung (BBA VI Semester).
The college also honoured its academic achievers. Khrozo-u Kapfo (BA) received a cash award of Rs. 5,000 for securing 7th rank in Psychology under Nagaland University. The Viwhesieno (Tsuno) Award for Girls’ Topper, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, was jointly awarded to Nikhuli Achumi (BBA) and Khrozo-u Kapfo (BA).
The C-Edge Laurel Award (Even Semester) 2026 was presented to Inaka Chophy (BA IV Semester), Zuthoto Phesa-o (BA VI Semester), Supriya Patnayak (BBA II Semester), Imnamongla Longkumer (BBA IV Semester), and Nikhuli Achumi (BBA VI Semester) for securing the highest GPA in their respective semesters.
Neamkoe S (BA I Semester) delivered the freshmen’s address, while Ningthuiliu Pamei (BA V Semester) spoke on behalf of the senior students.
The Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2026 Spotlight Walk featured the top 10 finalists, who underwent four days of grooming and orientation. The event was moderated by Assistant Professors Seema Debnath and Masangheing.
Tokai Yepthomi and Neamkoe S were crowned Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2026, while B. Dolim and Sentienla Jamir were declared runners-up. The subtitle winners were Putumeren and Kumzuksangla as Mr. and Ms. Talented, and Khrukuzo Puro and Sokumla Y as Mr. and Ms. Ethnic.
The programme also featured a musical performance by Tsutanso and Endtoli. It concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Tsushila Y, Assistant General Secretary of the C-Edge College Students’ Forum (CECSF).
The programme began with an invocation prayer by Lipokpenla Ao (BA V Semester), followed by a welcome address by Dean of Management Studies, Wapanginla Ao. The college choir also presented the college anthem, Believe In Him.
