C L John commissions Tehok Hydro project

Minister rural development, C.L. John Friday commissioned the 1 MW Tehok Hydro Electric Project, Mon district in the presence of secretary power K.V Yanger IAS and chief engineer power, Er. K. Er. K. Miachieo.
The minister thanked the department of power and those organizations for rendering support and cooperation in making the project successful. He sought continuous support from the department and cooperation from the people in running the machine.
The project is designed, taking into consideration to operate in synchronization with the grid supply, so that electricity generated from the plant during monsoon season and off peak hours would be utilised by injecting into the grid. With the commissioning of the project, the department of power hoped that there would be improvement of power supply in the area.
Er. K. Machieo while highlighting the project said, Tehok Hydro Electric Project was conceptualised and envisaged to generate electricity and contribute to the state power requirement in a small way in lined with government of India policy of capacity addition.
The name of the project has been derived from the name of the river Tehok as Tehok Hydro Electric project.
Meanwhile, power generated from Tehok Hydro Electric Project would be transmitted through a dedicated 11 KV line.
Short speeches were delivered by convenor land owner welfare society W. Chennyiem konyak and representative from chenloishu village.
