Oil India Limited Launches CSR Initiative for Eco-Tourism & Intanki National Park Protection – Minister C. L. John Unveils Monolith at Manglumukh Camp

To mark the launching of the Oil India Limited (OIL) funded CSR initiative for promotion of Eco-Tourism and enhance protection of Intanki National Park, minster of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, C. L John unveiled the monolith at Manglumukh Protection Camp on February 28, 2025.


C.L. John expressed gratitude to OIL for funding the eco-tourism initiative and praised the department for securing the funds. He emphasized Intanki National Park’s potential for eco-tourism, which requires community cooperation.


Principal secretary, DEFCC, Mhonbemo Patton praised the CSR initiative for eco-tourism as a significant program for Nagaland, which could encourage other departments to get involved. He commended the efforts of all involved in making the project a reality and highlighted the opportunity for Intanki National Park to showcase the state’s rich natural heritage.


PCCF & HoFF, Nagaland, Dharmendra Prakash spoke about the strategic location of Intanki National Park and said that the initiative could establish Intanki National Park as a prominent spot on the global eco-tourism map.


Chief Wildlife Warden and chairman of the Intanki Forest Development Society, VedPal Singh, shared his vision for Intanki National Park in his keynote address.

He supported his vision with examples of successful Protected Areas like Corbett National Park and Pinch Tiger Reserve, highlighting how these areas have rapidly evolved and driven the economy of their respective states through eco-tourism activities. The program was chaired by Field Director, Intanki National Park. T. Aochuba.
