Members of the State Cabinet on Thursday met Government of India’s representative for Naga peace talks AK Mishra, and reaffirmed the state’s commitment for an early solution to the decades-old Naga issue.
Addressing the media after the meeting, minister for Tourism & Higher Education and government spokesperson, Temjen Imna Along said it was just a brief discussion on the Naga political issue with Mishra and his team in the CM’s chamber at State Civil Secretariat here.
“The cabinet is serious about the Naga political issue as chief minister Neiphiu Rio had clearly told Mishra and his team that the aspiration of Nagas is to see an early settlement so that Nagaland can also actively contribute to the vision of a Vikshit Bharat,” Along said.
On the issue of Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT), Along informed that the chief minister briefed Mishra on the state’s position regarding the FNT. He said the chief minister impressed upon Mishra that the Centre should not divert from any of the core issues.
