Cabinet put on hold appointments for NSSB

State Cabinet on Friday decided to keep in abeyance the appointment of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) chairman and other members of the board till the cabinet sub-committee submits its report after examining the various demands and grievances regarding NSSB. 

Informing this to Nagaland Post, planning and coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs, minister, Neiba Kronu said that the cabinet meeting, chaired by chief minister, after thorough deliberation decided to keep on hold al appointments of the NSSB.
H&FW asked to issue fresh advisory: Kronu informed that the High Powered Committee on COVID-19 has directed the Health & Family Welfare department to issue fresh general advisory on ‘COVID-19 appropriate behaviour’ to prevent spread of COVID infection and to ensure safe a Christmas and New Year celebration.
Re-opening of Schools: Kronu, who is also one of the spokesperson for HPC, said that the School Education department has been asked to work out measures for resumption of physical class in a staggered manner for students of Class 6 onwards for all schools in the state from February, 2021. 
It said that detailed SOP, in consultation with the Health and Home departments, for re-opening of schools for prevention of spread of COVID-19 will be prepared for guidance and compliance of all stakeholders. 
NU on old semester exam: HPC further directed Nagaland University to take steps to conduct old semester examination from January 28, preferably offline and to explore possibilities of resuming classes from second week of February, subject to adherence of all SOPs for prevention and spread of COVID. 
Institutes to open from Feb 25: With regard to technical institutes, set to being the new academic session from February 25, HPC said that step may taken to start offline /physical classes, subject to adherence of SOPs. 
Gathering limit enhanced: In line with the Home ministry’s directive, HPC decided to increase the limit on the gathering of people from 100 to 200 or 50% of the hall capacity for enclosed space, whichever is lower, subject to adherence of SOPs. For open spaces, HPC has directed the Home department to issue necessary orders keeping in mind the space available and the requirements for social distancing, Kronu said.
Opening of cinema, parks etc.:  Further, in line with MHA’s directive and guidelines, the Home department has been asked to issue necessary orders for opening of cinemas/entertainment parks and other similar places and also business to business exhibitions in the state, subject to adherence of SOPs.
ILP to for tourists: The committee further decided to lift the ban on issuance of Inner Line Permit (ILP) for tourists and allow entry into the State subjected to providing COVID-19 negative test report and adherence to all SOPs. The Home department has been asked to issue orders for the same.
