
Three-day celebration of Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship (CABYF) 50th celebration under the theme, “Proclaim liberty in Christ” commenced on January 15 at Thenyizu village under Phek district.
A press release by CABYF stated that, in the introductory service, professor of applied theology, Oriental Theological Seminary Bade, Dimapur, Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o, spoke on the message “where are you” wherein he spoke on the importance of self examination.
He added that knowing oneself led to the right path of God’s way. Questioning the youths where they stood, he encouraged them to exist seeking their origin to discover themselves and get closer to God.
He reminded that the road to perfection was always under construction and called upon the youth to improvise their talents to achieve their goals.
CABCC chairman, Rev Vevotso Theluo appreciated the pioneers of the fellowship for which today they were celebrating the 50th year. He urged the youths to take advantage of the anniversary to change themselves and be messengers of God.
Other speakers included lead pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur, Rev. P Bonny Resü, director, Harvest Ministries International, Rev. Dr. Sülüveyi Rhakho and director, Life Ministries, Colo Mero as the resource person for the workshop.
Earlier, during the opening ceremony, lead pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur, Rev. P Bonny Resü unveiled the 50th anniversary monolith and chairman Chokri Area Baptist Church Council (CABCC), Rev. Vevotso Theluo led the flag hoisting. Nine villages including one town namely Thipuzu, Phusachodu, Phuyoba, Khalazu Bawe, Khulazu Basa, Kikruma village, Chesezu, Thenyizu, North Kikruma and Chetheba town are part of the Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship.
Hundreds of youths from different Baptist church within the area have been taking part in the three-day celebration at Thenyizu village.
