Call for promotion of Lotha language

Lotha Academy, in collaboration with the Lotha Naga Cultural Resource Centre and Mount Tiyi College, organised an event to promote Lotha language at Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha on April 27.
The focus of the event was to raise awareness and promote the Lotha language, celebrating its rich heritage and call for preservation of the language.
During the event, activities such as poster design and short skit competition was conducted.
Students from various schools in Wokha enthusiastically participated in the programme, showcasing their talent and dedication.


The winners in poster making competition were: 1st-Chonchibemo Ezung (Perennial School) followed by Mhasen Patton (GHSS Wokha) and Chonchanthung Ezung (Fernbrook School) in second and third positions while consolation prizes were awarded to Noyingchani J Kikon (Perennial School), Liyan M Kikon (Springdale School), Ayimong E Yanthan (Fernbrook School) and Pipenthung Cyrus Kikon (Don Bosco Higher Secondary School).
Meanwhile, it was informed that activities such as spelling bee, poetry recitation and exposition and folk song completion will also be conducted at the Lotha Language Festival to be held on May 4.
