CAN Youth conducts youth programme

CAN Youth (earlier known as Youngs’ Club) has organized a ‘Learn, Lead and Serve’ programme, an interaction and sharing for youth leaders on social and community development, with the youth of Kuhuboto at KGPO hall, Kuhubto town, on March 27. Jenpu Rongmei, founder of CAN Youth, was the facilitator. In the first session, a brainstorm was initiated by the facilitator where he stressed on the importance of appreciation and support among the community and said Nagas can also progress if we develop such culture. He said a leader is the one that lead people for a better cause rather than leading people for wrong purpose.
Livi, youth leader from Kuhuboto, shared that leadership is determined by the quality they possess and said a leader should develop quality to be trusted by others.
In the second session, two prominent topics were presented by two groups after deliberation on the youth responsible towards political development and quality education.
The first group stressed on the importance of imparting political knowledge among the rural youth. They suggested that using of intoxicated substances should be avoid and also encouraged the use of various media to act as a pressure group to the government. They were of the view that youth could be the best agent to bring a change in the society. They insisted that youth could create awareness on politics for development not for money
The second group which stressed on the quality education said government schools have not progress much due to unwanted proxy culture by the government teacher. One of the participants shared that RTE was a complete failure in the state. They also pointed out that there were no different toilets for boys and girls in schools which was in contravention to the act. The programme was supported by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dimapur.
