
Can Youth held a meeting with Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) and Dimapur Eastern Naga Students Union (DENSU) on June 29 and July 13 respectively, to deliberate on Project SPATIAL (students, parents and teachers for authentic learning) and its vision, mission and outcome.
A press release from Can Youth coordinator, Lairing Dau Naiding stated that, main objective of SPATIAL is to strengthen and enhance community on quality education, child rights and preventing dropouts through implementing life skill session, deep assessments, strategy method trainings/workshop for SMC and teachers in government schools and its surrounding village/colony and the project also involve various stakeholders like students bodies, churches, village council, women organization, village councils and GBs.
Can Youth SPATIAL Project started in the 2017 and covered 6 government schools in Dimapur district through the support from DEO, R. Amongla Jamir, Goodrej Mumbai and Bosco Institute Jorhat.
The 2020-2021 SPATIAL Project holders is AIDA, implemented by Can Youth and supported by German based organization Child aid Network (CAN) and it will be implemented in 3 government schools and its surrounding village/colony with the involvement of various stakeholders and with full preventive measures. Can Youth will also organize webinar and consultative meetings through video call with various stakeholders on quality education and child rights in the month of August 2020 and seek support from CBOs, churches, GBs, mothers, students’ bodies and other stakeholders for our children present and future.
