Can Youth inaugurated its new office at Burma Camp, Dimapur, near Beehive Bakery, on Tuesday. The event was graced by president of Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF), Zasivikho Zakiesato, as the special guest.
Speaking at the programme, Zakiesato highlighted DUCCF’s role as a bridge between local communities, the municipality, and administration. He congratulated Can Youth’s founder and chief functionary, Jenpu Rhakho Rongmai, for his commitment and progress, and expressed hope that the new office would become a collaborative space for NGOs.
He spoke on shared civic responsibility, especially in waste management, and encouraged NGOs to educate students and work together for a cleaner Dimapur.
In his keynote address, Jenpu shared his journey through personal and professional struggles, including depression and the loss of his former office. He said the reopening marked a day of renewal for the entire team, and dedicated the space to collaboration with ministry groups, sister networks, and other organisations.
He thanked supporters, former colleagues, and his family, especially his sisters, for their prayers and strength during difficult times.
Other highlights included addresses by Dimapur Municipal Councilor I. Sentinuklu Jamir, Can Youth advisor Duoneinou Kire, Youth Net Director Nuneseno Chase, and NTCP Dimapur Nodal Officer Dr. Moa. DNSU vice president Michael Yanthan represented DNSU president Hinoto P. Aomi.
The programme was chaired by Can Youth programme manager Nuyelu Nyekha and included a song by Can Youth interns. A prayer and dedication of the office was led by Sr. Pastor Dr. Keveseiei Chakhesang of Christian Worship Centre, with gratitude remarks by Can Youth secretary Zhove Lohe and a benediction by Pastor Athiong Yimchunger of Believers Eastern Church.
