Can Youth organises ‘adolescent summer retreat’

An “adolescent summer retreat” under the theme, “Voyage, learning & Growth” was organised by Can Youth on July 29 at Green Park, Chümoukedima.
A press release by Can Youth stated that Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president, Kegwayhun Tep was the special guest while EAC Dimapur, Imnajungla and District Co-ordinator DWSM, PHED, Imojungla Longkumer were the resource persons.


In his address, Kegwayhun Tep encouraged the adolescent club members to take proper care of their physical, mental and spiritual health in order to prolong their longevity. He also said adolescents club was space of learning, sharing and growing together.


Resource person, Imnajungla stressed on good and bad governance and also highlighted the gathering about legislative, the judiciary and the executive. “Good governance simply means inclusive decisions to benefit the citizens meanwhile bad government simply means the absence of good governance”, said Imnajungla.


Another resource person, Imojungla Longkumer talked about the importance of empowering communities on water and sanitation and emphasised on the inter relation between good sanitation and water. Longkumer also encouraged adolescents to practice the good habits of water and sanitation. The summer retreat also witnessed various activities and competitions.
