Cancel transfer order: Ao apex bodies tell govt.

Three apex Ao organization- Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang and AKM (students’ body) have appealed to the state government to immediately cancel the transfer order of two Medical Officers (MOs) from the Gynae department at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) Mokokchung. They also said the transfer order did not mention any replacement.
They pointed out that the MOs were the only gynaecologists at IMDH whose services were much in need as IMDH catered to patients from neighbouring districts also.
Despite increase in ante-natal and post-natal cares, the transfer order was done without consideration of the needs of the people, they said.
AWUMT demands: All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) haws also urged upon the H&FW department to revoke the transfer orders of both Sr. MO (Obst & Gynae) from IMDH unless their replacements were of the same caliber.
In a letter to commissioner & secretary H&FWD, AWUMT president R. Ayim Longkumer and general secretary Lanumeren admitted that thought it was a prerogative of the department yet the recent transfer order of both MOs should be seriously looked into it was to take effect.
AWUMT cautioned that if the transfer of both Medical Officers was carried out, it would result in loss for patients and hamper the functioning of the Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital.
