Capacity building and training conducted

Department of Sericulture conducted a capacity building training for SHGs under the Intensive Bivoltine Sericultur Development Project (ISBDP) from January 25 to 30 at Common Facility Centre (CFC), Keyito Bade village, Dhansiripar Dimapur.
Topics for the training consisted of the concept, purpose and benefits of SHG, formation of SHG, its functions, rules and regulations, book keeping and leadership development.
 The main goal of the training was to empower women by equipping them with necessary skills to improve their socio-economic condition through sericulture.
The training was conducted under the supervision of district sericulture officer, Yashimeren. Project coordinator, Anirban Roy and project assistant, Soumik Nandy of Manbhum Ananada Ashram Nityananda Trust (MANT) were the resource persons along with field coordinator, Nichulo Rengma, Resham Mitra and Emilo.
A total of 120 women beneficiaries availed this training in 6 batches.
