NBCC general secretary, Rev Dr. Zelhou Keyho on May 13 inaugurated the new campus of Capital College of Higher Education at Thegaba, Phezhu, Jotsoma.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev Dr. Keyho maintained that education sector needed proper planning, vision and careful drafting by smart and dedicated minds as it dealt with young and tender minds to give them a meaning future. He therefore encouraged the teaching community to update themselves and compare with others.
To the students, Rev. Dr. Keyho urged them to remember that they were born with a purpose embedded and therefore asked them to discover their identity and purpose through a relationship with Christ.
Highlighting the history of the College, chairman, college governing body, Vezuhu Keyho, informed that the Arts stream was established in 2004 and got provisional affiliation from Nagaland University but was delayed.
Then in 2005, the College started with five regular students and five part time teachers as National Academy of Higher Education, (Evening College) located at Tinpaty with classes in the evening.
Later, in 2017 the College was recognised by UGC under section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act of 1956 and at present it was working for NAAC assessment.
Earlier, the programme was led by member, College Governing body, Kenneth Punyü and vote of thanks by managing director, CCHE, Dr Khrietuo Doulo.
Special number from Tsoshelü Keyho and college anthem by college choir were highlights of the inaugural programme.
