
A Career Counselling workshop was organized by Nagaland University (NU) at SASRD Medziphema campus on March 29 and 30.
Professor Incharge of Student Counselling, Dr. K K Jha, in a press release stated that the workshop focused on ‘Soft Skill development, Aptitude for Civil services & other Competitive Exams’. B.Sc (Ag)–III year students were the main target group. A total of 71 students from UG & PG level registered for participation for the two-day workshop. Career counselling programs are organized every year at NU:SASRD as an integral part of academic activities for students to make them aware about promising career opportunities ahead. It also helps them lay strong foundations in soft skill development, and aptitude development for civil services and other competitive exams.
The workshop comprised of six sessions with three resource persons from TIME, Guwahati. The program focused on orienting students to different competitive exams, career opportunities available in Agri-allied sectors, avenues of higher studies abroad, preparing general studies for UPSC & NPSC exams etc.
Professor AK Makar, dean NU:SASRD welcomed the resource persons and motivated students to prepare themselves to facing the challenges ahead in their career.
Professor KK Jha expressed his heartfelt thanks to professor T. Lanusosang, pro vice-chancellor, NU:SASRD for providing all needed facilities and help to organize the workshop successfully. Shekhozo Vero of B. Sc (Ag) III year delivered feedback on behalf of the participants.
