Chen Area Students’ Union (CASU) has vehemently condemned the October 20, 2019 firing incident that took place at Chenloisho village under Mon district. It may be mentioned that two civilians and a personnel of the Assam Rifles suffered minor injuries when suspected NSCN-K (Yung Aung faction) attacked a camp of the Assam Rifles between Old and new village of Chenloisho village on October 20 at around 2.15am.
In a press release, CASU president Joseph Konyak and assitant general secretary Anthony Wangnao stated that the incident has instilled fear and insecurity among the general public. Describing such incident as “condemnable”, the union has urged the responsible individuals and groups to restrain from committing such acts especially in the public areas. Meanwhile, the union has wished speedy recovery to the injured and shared grief over loss of properties.
