Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) has rejected the attempt to idolize Gaidinliu and linking it with worship and spiritual matters.
In a press release issued by CBCC executive secretary Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo expressed shock to come across that Gaidinlu was referred to as the “Naga Spiritual Leader”.
Stating that it was “far from truth and very deceptive in nature”, the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council also pointed out that heraka was never a traditional Naga religion and that there was no question of protecting Naga religion.
CBCC said it stood firm on the foundations of the living God who commanded his people and reminded all by quoting the bible verse (Exodus 20:3-5): “You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them…”
CBCC said after the advent of Christianity, Nagas accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior.
“We worship Him alone and there is none beside Him. We therefore reject any attempt by anybody or power to Theologize and idolize this kind of sects to connect Worship, Spirituality or Tradition in line with Hindu RSS and VHP by eulogizing cultic Heraka and idolizing Gaindiliu in collaboration with the state government,” Chakhesang Baptist Church Council stated.
In this regard, the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council appealed to all believers under CBCC to stand firm in their faith and not be swept away by such deceptive and cultic proclamation and false religion.
