
Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill, Kohima (CBCMHK), Sunday School department and Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) organized Vacation Bible Schools (VBS) for the students during their summer vacation break.
The week-long event organised by CBCMHK was held at the church premises and Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima, under the theme, “Goodness of God” (Psalm 100:5) from June 25 to 30.
A press release from Sunday School superintendent, Akhrole Ngachu stated that 744 students from LKG to class 10 registered for the camp, with 23 families of non-Chakhesang community participated in the camp along with 51 teachers.
Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, sr. pastor, CBCMHK, Akhan Koza, secretary, Law & Justice, Nagaland and church deaconess, Zhovelu Hiesuh were the session speakers during the camp.
Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBC), Children & Education department director, Chinehulu Rhakho, graced the grand finale as the guest speaker on June 30.
Addressing the congregation, she emphasised on the importance of differentiating the family and the institution where due importance should be given for the growth of children’s soul.
She stressed on the defect of children engaged in mobile gaming and internet browsing without limitation which brings immense destruction to the family and the society at the later stage and urged the parents to be vigilant.
VBS director, Chosuve Nakro, said the camp was held primarily focusing on the word of God and at the same time aimed at providing livelihood earning skills by incorporating trainings in broom making, painting, sketching, embroidery, crafts etc. The camp culminated with performances from all participating classes.
Earlier, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, sr. pastor, CBCMHK, chaired the grand finale ceremony and Rev. Dr. Wepre Mero, pastor, CBCMHK offered a pastoral prayer.
KBC: The three-day event was held under the theme, “Unmasked: and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Epheshians 4:24)” from June 26 to 28 at KBC.
A press release from Koinonia media ministry stated that, a total of 386 children, 64 officials and volunteers participated in the programme. The main speakers for the gospel services were Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo, senior pastor, Medotseilieü Kiewhuo, pastor and Neibalie Kiewhuo, pastor. 12 teachers were engaged for the four different classes namely, beginners, primary, junior and intermediate class with sessions each day.
