City Bus Owners Union Kohima (CBOUK), during its 23rd annual general meeting held at the Red Cross Building, reaffirmed its commitment to the “One Government, One Tax” principle aimed at ensuring better compliance and clarity in transport operations.
The union unanimously resolved to provide fare exemption for on-duty traffic police personnel in uniform, recognizing their role in managing city traffic and ensuring road safety under demanding conditions. It also decided to continue its existing provision of 50% fare concession for students wearing school uniforms and traveling during class hours. CBOUK announced that annual bus renewals for 2025–2026 will be conducted from August 1 to 12, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Union Office. All registered members are required to submit copies of bus permits, valid driving licences, and two passport-sized photographs for driver ID cards.
The union informed that the newly adopted resolutions will come into immediate effect.
Meanwhile, a new leadership team has been elected for the 2025–2028 tenure. The team includes Nometo Kin as president, N. Motsuromo Ezung as vice president, Samuel Magh as general secretary, Kezhalekho Kiso as joint secretary and action committee convener, Thupurule Thuluo as treasurer, and Ketoulekho Ngukha as advisor.
