DIMAPUR: A Capacity Building Programme (CBP) for export promotion of passion fruit, banana and ginger was organised by the APEDA North Eastern Region, Regional Office Tripura, in collaboration with the District Horticulture Office, Wokha, at Eloe Hoho Community Hall, Wokha RD Block on June 2, 2026.
The programme was chaired by Y. Shanchobeni Humtsoe, Assistant Horticulture Officer (AHO), Wokha, who delivered the welcome address. Altogether 66 participants, including officials, exporters, farmers and entrepreneurs, attended the event.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among stakeholders on the role of APEDA in exports, agri-export opportunities, quality and packaging standards, and export documentation requirements.
During the plenary session, Joydev Roy, BDM, APEDA Regional Office NER, gave a detailed presentation on APEDA’s role in export promotion, financial assistance schemes, and demonstrated IEC & RCMC registration via DGFT portal. Ruth Humtsoe, Horticulture Inspector, spoke on food processing and preservation of fruits, while Rajeev Medhi, exporter from M/s. Jingshai Enterprises, Guwahati, shared his experiences in handling export consignments, highlighting aspects such as harvesting, pre-cooling and packaging.
Participants were also guided to subscribe to APEDA’s social media platforms through a common QR code, with around 12 participants subscribing during the session.
