CBP on ‘khet bachao abhiyan’ at Porba

DIMAPUR: ICAR- KVK Phek, organised a Sarpanch Sammelan: Capacity Building Programme on Khet Bachao Abhiyan, on June 13, 2026 at Porba Campus, Phek, where Dr. Pritpal Kaur, SP Phek graced the occasion as special guest.
According to DIPR report, addressing the gathering, Dr. Pritpal Kaur encouraged village leaders to actively participate in community development programmes and support farmers in adopting sustainable and climate resilient livelihood practices. She further urged the participants to work collectively towards strengthening the agricultural sector and improving the socio-economic well-being of farming communities in the district.
During technical session, Dr. T Esther Longkumer, CTO, Soil Science delivered a lecture on Natural Farming, where Dr. Hannah K Assngla, CTO Agronomy and Dr. Manjunath K S, SMS Horticulture spoke and delivered on Integrated Farming System for Sustainable Agriculture and Organic Nutrient Management in Horticultural Crops respectively.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, senior scientist and head, KVK Phek delivered the welcome address, and highlighted the objective and importance of the ongoing campaign of “Khet Bachao Abhiyan”.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to work together for the protection and sustainable management of agricultural land.
