CBSE pre-exam counseling for students

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched pre- examination counseling for students and parents from February 2 and would continue to April 20.
Regional Officer, Sanjib Das, said the 18th consecutive year of CBSE would provide psychological counseling services to students during preparation and examination to overcome exam stress.
It has informed the students to dial a toll free number 1800118004 from any part of the country which would centralise access to CBSE helpline. While general queries would be answered by the operators, students would be connected to the principals or counsellors in case of exam related anxiety and stress.
It also informed that answer and queries of students would be answered through weekly question and answer columns to be published in national newspapers like Hindustan Times (HT horizon-education), The Hindu, Malyalam Manorama and Amar Ujala from the month of February.
Further, students are asked to log in through directoracad.cbse@nic.in and counselling.cecbse@gmail.com for online counseling. It said information related to examinations and techniques to cope with exam anxiety has been provided at CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in through micro link helpline.
CBSE annual counseling is an outreach programme which was carefully designed keeping the heterogeneity of student’s population and geographical spread. Multiple modes of communication like telephonic counseling, question answer columns in newspapers and online through CBSE website were used to reached out the examinees during the phase.
CBSE offered trained counselors and principals from within CBSE affiliated schools located in and outside India. This year 72 principals, trained counselors and few psychologists would be participating in tele-communication and address exam related psychological problems.
