Centre Chakhesang Public Organization (CCPO) has issued an ultimatum on KKB company for failing to repair and maintain 2 lane road from Pfutsero-Phek via Sakraba EAC Hq.
In an ultimatum addressed to the deputy commissioner (DC) Phek, CCPO president Vesopa Nakro and general secretary Kulupoyi V Vadeo requested the DC to take up with the responsible authorities to deliberate at PMU meeting and urgently get the contractors to their respective tasks on or before October 31, 2025 as the maintenance period would culminate on November 13, 2025.
CCPO stated that the Centre had provided fund provisions for maintenance of the road for four-five years by the official contractors in their respective package. However, CCPO said there had been landslides blocking the road and the side drainages along Pfutsero-Phek stretch. It said retaining walls and the protection walls have also collapsed at several locations, adding that cracks have developed due to poor quality workmanship. In the light of the above, CCPO demanded urgent repair of collapsed protection/retaining walls, sinking areas, potholes and the cracking portions.
CCPO also pointed out that no jungle clearance had been executed on the part of KKB company i.e from Zero Point 00km to 20km Pfutsero – Phek road Via Sakraba Hq.-Porba-Pholami-Khomi till date. The organisation cautioned that it would be compelled to “react with heavy action” if there was any lapse on the part of the concerned authorities in dispensing their responsibilities on time.
